Satine Phoenix, inimitable illustrator and entertainer, came into the studio for a photoshoot to kickoff her recently-released graphic novel NEW PRAETORIANS. Casting herself as the main character, the graphic novel, launched at Wondercon in April, is a sci-fi action adventure epic of obsession, revenge & redemption.
The photoshoot needed to match the style of Satine's gorgeous and edgy artwork. We also wanted, through lighting design and art direction, to craft a portrait series that would celebrate both strength and finesse: the feminine duality.
We succeeded. Satine, like her graphic novel alter-ego Colonel Sienna McKnight, is a smart, innovative Eur-Asian female tour-de-force.
